TJ Says It's Time For An Update.

I can't believe how fast time is flying over here. Everything is great - the weather is beautiful, I'm keeping busy, Brutus made friends with the horses down the street (haha), TJ looks great on the ice, we are making moves on the wedding planning, and there is a wonderful group of girls here - I have no complaints, life is all around really, really good!!!

So, whats new with me? I started training this week with another girl for a 6K on New Years Day. Let me say this loud and clear - I AM NOT A RUNNER!!, so if I successfully complete this training and the race I will be so proud of myself. We have 11 weeks to get our bums in gear, and I'm actually pretty excited about it. My little track star will be here too, so I am anticipating a fun day. Apparently everyone is served a glass of champagne after crossing the finish line..sounds like our kind of race, eh Autumn!?

Update on hockey: Woof. I refuse to judge so early in the season, because I just know that the team will pull it together and start producing soon. I guess the guys only put on their little dance recital if they win, so you all have to wait to see TJs sick moves ;) Fingers crossed for this weekend.

Since the last time I wrote we finally made it to the zoo. Take a peek over at our photo site - our new camera is amazing and I can't get over the quality of the photos. We were able to get super close to the animals, and TJ and I both had a lot of fun - we were there for over 3 hours. Teej asked if I had charged the camera before we left (I lied), so half of the photos are really awesome and then the other pictures are off my Blackberry. Crappy camera, but woohoo for finally having a cool phone! Vodafone is like the Verizon of Germany, and they are also a sponsor of the team so I got hooked up with a pretty snazzy phone for once.

Teej just hanging out...don't mind the poop.

I knew we nicknamed Brutus Boots for good reason..

I can't believe how close we could get to the animals!
I caught up yesterday with one of my girlfriends from last years team. They are over in Norway. She asked me on a scale of 1-10 how home sick am I. I can confidently say that I really am not at all - I mean I certainly have my days where I'd like a snuggle from my brother or to sit on the couch and laugh with my sister (and don't get me wrong, I'm sure I will probably end up crying around Thanksgiving/Christmas/my birthday), but I am keeping so busy and constantly skyping, facebook messaging, emailing and calling everyone back home that our time here is going by much faster than I was anticipating.

Pretty interesting to think about - just from last years hockey team we know that couple in Norway, two guys are in Finland, another one is in Italy, one is in Denmark, one is in Sweden, and another one is in England. We also know couples from previous years of playing that are in Russia, Switzerland and Austria - the possibilities of where we can end up playing in years to come are really pretty awesome and exciting.

Well, it is 9:00 (3PM back home) and I am off to sleep. I know, I'm lame, right? - TJ only has one afternoon practice on Thursdays instead of both a morning and a night skate like during the beginning of the week. We were able to eat dinner together before 8:30/9PM at night and even squeezed in a family walk. I love Thursdays -  nighty night :)
