One Week!

Isn't it wild that in one week I'll officially be Mrs. Fox?

I can't believe that it's already been two years since TJ popped down on one knee and asked me to marry him, accompanied by this chubby bulldog with a ring strapped to his collar.

Our Wedding Invitations

We sent our invitations out the first week of May with a June 1st RSVP. Following suit with our Plane Ticket Save The Dates, I continued on with invitations fashioned as vintage postcards. Our wedding website is hosted by WeddingJoJo.com and it offers online RSVP - we chose this option instead of traditional mail-backs, which proved to be a really great choice for us since we don't have a permanent address. WeddingJoJo consolidates the RSVP's and meal selections into a spreadsheet that can be printed out to cross-reference with all of the seating charts and other important guest-related papers that I have to fill out for the venue. The postcard invites were saved as a PDF and printed out at Staples on my own linen cardstock which I purchased in bulk from Paper Source. I purchased the cute Kym & TJ stamp from Rubber Stamp Champ and the vintage stamps were purchased from Etsy

Ten more days until the big day! The mix of emotions (excited-annoyed-pissed-excited-fuckit-imoverthis-excited-nervous-iquit-excited) that I'm experiencing while finishing last minute details are unreal, but I'm mainly excited and I can't wait to marry my best friend and party with our family and friends!

Monday's Mantra

This time last year I was a hot mess because TJ hadn't signed a contract yet and it felt as though everyone else in the whole entire (hockey) world had. I am that girl who needs to know what's on the agenda six Tuesdays from now, so the uncertainty that has become a major part of my life is still something that I am trying to get use to, even embarking on our sixth season together. Yes, I measure our years in seasons.

TJ had an offer come in last week that ended up just not working out, and I was okay with it. "Don't reel your first bite when fishing across the pond", I say. Planning the wedding has definitely channeled all of my thoughts into positive ones (even if I temporarily morphed into bridezilla yesterday), so I've been very go-with-the-flow this offseason. Right now my focus is on finalizing the details and meeting my groom at the end of the aisle on July 7th. If an offer comes in between now and then, it's just an added cherry on the sundae.

One of the many things that I am grateful for in meeting The Fantastic Mister Fox is that in being with him and living this lifestyle I am forced to realize, sometime daily, that I'm not in control. It's scary but it's also very exciting, especially when we're on the adventure together...and isn't that what it was always about to begin with?

What's your mantra today?

Five Weeks.

Holy Guacamole, Batman!! I'm going to be a Mrs. in FIVE WEEKS!

Why does it all of a sudden feel like there are not enough minutes in the day?

I told my brother last night (he's 9) that my last name will be changing to Fox. He teared up.

I had my final dress fitting on Thursday. In L-O-V-E.

Little Miss DIY realized this week that she wasn't superwoman/had too many projects on her plate and turned to Etsy to let the professionals make some of her visions come to life.

I also changed my mind on Tuesday about having real flowers for bouquets. How was I supposed to know if I'd want them or not? I ordered them from FiftyFlowers.com and will put them together after the rehearsal. I'll let you know how they turn out!

One day while TJ was on a roadtrip I was watching Four Weddings and decided to apply. They contacted me last week and want us on the show. I am making my decision within the next few days and I will obviously let y'all know what I decide to do!

I am wearing super comfy wedges under my gown. No pretty, draw dropping wedding shoe photos for me.

Pinterest is the devil.

I went to a new salon today to get my eyebrows waxed. Let's just say I'm happy that I have five weeks left to let them grow back in. Note to self: Never trust a girl with penciled-on eyebrows to wax yours.
