I've Been Tryna Slow It Down, I've Been Tryna Take It In.

This week feels like it went Monday, Tues ... FRIDAY. Bam. I really did have intentions to blog every day this week, however somehow I let life get in the way.

Shame on me.

Can you believe that today is the last Friday in June? Because I can't. This summer is seriously flying by, but I've been trying to slow it down and take it all in.

This week, according to my Instagram:
Have you ever had Mango Avocado Sushi? O M G.
Sunset photos have quickly become obligatory.
Slowly but surely wins the race, says the turtle.
My boys.
TJ signed with the Denver Cutthroats. Whoop whoop.

How was your week?
Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

Do You See A Weed Or A Wish?

"If dandelions were rare and fragile, people would knock themselves out to pay $14.95 a plant, raise them by hand in greenhouses, and form dandelion societies and all that. But they are everywhere and don't need us and kind of do what they please. So we call them "weeds," and murder them at every opportunity. Well, I say they are flowers."
-Rober Fulghum

When a person looks at a field of dandelions they either see 100 weeds or 100 wishes.
I choose to see wishes - what do you choose to see?

Happy first day of summer!

The Fanciest Way To Kill Your Liver | DIY Infused Alcohol

Last night I enjoyed a girls night out with old friends.

One of my favorite things about these girls is that we range in age from 18-40(ish) and yet we always have the best time together. We worked together at a restaurant - a few of us, together for a solid ten years! - and even though we don't all work together anymore or see one other as much as we use to, when we do get together we pick up right where we left off, and we have the best belly-laughing time together. Each time I come home I can't wait to see them, and I love each one of them like they are sisters.

Somehow our conversation at the table turned to discussing about how much we love bacon (I don't know why, it just happened, haha!), which led to a conversation about bacon infused vodka. I recently read a magazine article about a bar down south that offers multiple infused vodkas, with their specialty being a bacon infused vodka which is used to make a smokey flavored bacon infused Bloody Mary. I don't know about you, but I think that sounds delicious.

I'm on a mission this summer to try and organize a little party around the pool where everyone who attends brings their own infused alcohol and we can play around with mixers to create our own concoctions.

source
I also think if you found fancy bottles (or use large mason jars!), crafting your own infused alcohol would be a great last minute hostess gift for the many celebrations, cookouts and get-togethers that take place throughout the summer.

Have you ever made your own infused alcohol?

Here are a few recipes that I can't wait to try!

And This My Friends, Is What We Call A Blog's Quarter Life Crisis.

One of the neatest things about having a blog is that it can be whatever you want it to be.

But the truth is, even after three years of doing this, I'm still not 100% sure what this space is all about, what I want it to be, or exactly what the point of it is anymore.

source
Many of the posts here reflect the changes that I've gone through over the past three years of my life, and it's really nice to be able to go back and recognize the growth that's occurred. As I've changed, my blog has changed, and it's very bittersweet to have that documentation here in black and white for both myself and the entire world to see.

I've shared a lot of personal information here over the years ... and for a long time, I took pride in myself for being an open book and being able to share every last detail of my life ... but I'm not really interested in doing that anymore. I've become a bit more reserved over the past couple of months, and I want to keep most of my personal life personal. Hense, why I've been pretty MIA lately both here on my blog and in social media.

source
So, I'm trying to figure this all out. Yes, even after three years of blogging, I'm still trying to figure out how to be a blogger. While I don't really know what the point of this space is anymore, I do know that I want it to be a place that inspires me and makes me happy, as well as anyone else who happens to stop by.

And this my friends, is what we call a blog's quarter life crisis.

Hense the fancy new face lift ;)
