And This My Friends, Is What We Call A Blog's Quarter Life Crisis.

One of the neatest things about having a blog is that it can be whatever you want it to be.

But the truth is, even after three years of doing this, I'm still not 100% sure what this space is all about, what I want it to be, or exactly what the point of it is anymore.

Many of the posts here reflect the changes that I've gone through over the past three years of my life, and it's really nice to be able to go back and recognize the growth that's occurred. As I've changed, my blog has changed, and it's very bittersweet to have that documentation here in black and white for both myself and the entire world to see.

I've shared a lot of personal information here over the years ... and for a long time, I took pride in myself for being an open book and being able to share every last detail of my life ... but I'm not really interested in doing that anymore. I've become a bit more reserved over the past couple of months, and I want to keep most of my personal life personal. Hense, why I've been pretty MIA lately both here on my blog and in social media.

So, I'm trying to figure this all out. Yes, even after three years of blogging, I'm still trying to figure out how to be a blogger. While I don't really know what the point of this space is anymore, I do know that I want it to be a place that inspires me and makes me happy, as well as anyone else who happens to stop by.

And this my friends, is what we call a blog's quarter life crisis.

Hense the fancy new face lift ;)

Kym

  2. I think I speak for everyone when I say, we don't care what you write about (personal or not), we just enjoy reading! Although I do particularly love your rants ;)

  4. Does this space need a point? I enjoy sitting down with a cup of coffee and reading what is going on in your life. Makes me feel like I'm at Starbucks, catching up with an old friend.

I hope it inspires you to know that your words make people happy and inspire others. Trying to put this space into a box so that it has 'a point' will only take away from your (it's) awesomeness.

Just keep on with your fabulous self and allowing us into your life. I wouldn't want this space any other way.

  6. LOVE the facelift!! I definitely know how yuo feel about the struggle to maintain the right balance between a personal blog and a diary. Like I want to share my story, but Im scared to put too much out there... it's tough!

  7. Love the new look!

I feel this way a lot with blogging. It's been almost 3 years for me too, and I don't feel like I fit in quite yet.

  8. I love it! (The new look, not the quarter life blog crisis - but that's ok too) :) You'll figure it out, girl, I'm sure! And I'll still be here!

  12. Thank you Miss Whitney!! Long time no talk!! I've definitely felt a little pull and struggle lately. I've used this space as a diary for so long...but in the world of creepsters I think some private things should remain private. Sigh, it is tough!!

  22. I usually read your blog in a reader but A) I love the new look! and B) I know I'm late to party on this post but I wanted to let you know I totally get it. I became a lot more reserved after I had my daughter on my blog and even on social media outlets. Something changed in me and I thought "wow, I really want to be more reserved and have more privacy." It's been a little bit of an adjustment on my blog and sometimes I go quite some time in between posts but eh, that's part of it right?
