Words For The Weekend // You Will Never Be Completely At Home Again

This is my last weekend at home and I have such conflicting emotions about our move next week.

Four, five, six years ago, sure, I was always filled with excitement to pack up my things, leave this small town, and jet off to a new place to explore. Now, embarking on "our" seventh hockey season ... this moving thing seems to just tug harder and harder on my heartstrings.

I know that I'll love Denver - it's probably the most exciting city thus far that we get the privilege to live in, I've heard nothing but wonderful things about the hockey organization, and I can't wait to actually meet some of my blogger friends (Sami, Hannah, LaurenJanna, Kristina and Mal) in real life - but I just wish that this all didn't have to come with the cost of moving away from my family, friends, and memories to be made with them here in Massachusetts.

This weekend will be spent soaking up each second with my loved ones - I hope that you take some time to unplug from the interwebs and do the same.

  1. What a beautiful quote - and SO true! It's hard moving from place to place (I haven't had to do that much yet, but I have experienced it). Best wishes to you as you move to a new place!

  2. That quote sums up everything so perfectly. I've got several places I think of as home, it gets confusing, but it just means you've got a piece of your heart in every place. Sending good vibes you will love your new place as well :)

  3. I love that quote! I lived in one place up through the end of high school, but have gained three new cities I now call home since starting college. No matter how at home I feel in one of them, I miss the others desperately.

My current home is actually Colorado Springs, so it looks like we're about to be almost neighbors! I haven't made it to Denver yet, but I've heard nothing but good things. And Colorado is ridiculously beautiful!

  6. I know exactly how you feel girl. I'm still dealing with it. I know this is technically home for us and my family is only 2 1/2 hours away, but Alaska was really feeling like home, a place I could see myself living. When I was younger I always dreamed of living in Toronto, but now that it's reality, I'm not so sure about it.
Enjoy every moment at home this weekend. I can't wait to hear all about your road trip and new adventure.

  11. I really wish they did away with vet rules. My ultimate dream in life (not really, but it's up there, ha!) is for TJ to play in Springfield. That would clearly never happen, but a girl can dream, haha!! I can understand how much you love and miss Alaska ... I hope that Toronto starts to feel like home soon <3

  21. Best of luck with your move! It's so impressive how many times you've adjusted. I freaked out with my small handful of geographic changes ;) but, it ALWAYS ends up being okay in the end. Denver is such a friendly city, I'm sure you'll settle in just fine. xo
