TGIF - I Simply Cannot Get My Life Together This Week

After a little bit of chit chat on Twitter yesterday, I've come to the general consensus that this daylight savings time change thing is kicking everyone's ass. Well, I'll speak for myself - I simply cannot get my life together this week. I looked at the clock yesterday, it was 2:30pm, I totally felt like it was going on 5pm ... I was ready for bed at 6:30pm ... and on top of it all, I'm pretty sure that my brain is still stuck in Massachusetts / the Eastern Time Zone. Is that possible?

Keeping your shit together when you have a blog is very important. It takes me approximately an hour+ to complete each post (mostly because I get sidetracked every few minutes) - and when I can't pull it together, things like yesterday happen where I can't even force 5 words down on a blog page, so I don't.

Whomp whomp.

Seeing as how Q+A VLOGS seem to be such a hot commodity lately, I figured I'd jump on the train, too. I often write about whatever I want here, but I'm sure that there are things that people are curious about or have wanted to ask me and have never been able to, so here is your chance. Plus, you give me a blog post for the week ;)

TJ is being forced to joining in on the fun too - so send in your question either down below via comment, Tweet me, or send me an email, and we'll put together a video sometime next week answering them all ... if I can pull my life together by then. I make no promises. Have a good weekend!

  1. A friend of mine texted me last night and said she swore it was 10pm. It was 6. I had spent the last 2 hours convinced it was also 10pm. I really don't think DST normally effects me like this!

  2. We ate dinner the other night at 4:30. I could have sworn it was 6 and never really looked at the clock.

  3. Any gift ideas to get my boyfriend who plays/loves hockey?

  4. I have a question for TJ. I write hockey romance. Yeah, I know. You probably didn't even know there was such genre. Anyway, I know that hockey players, like all professional athletes, probably don't stint on the cussing when together with just the guys. Do you watch your language when you're with Kym? How about when you were just dating?

  5. Another question for TJ. I'm currently reading "The Code: The Unwritten Rules of Fighting and Retaliation in the NHL" and am really enjoying this inside look at the seamier side of hockey. It was published in 2006, so some of the information is somewhat dated. Are there still designated "enforcers?"

  7. What is the one article of clothing you wish she/he would throw away?

What do you disagree on as a couple?
If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to star as you?

    Describe her/him in three words.

If you could live anywhere in the entire world, where would you live?
    Who wears the pants?

This post just made me smile so hard right now! I totally agree with you that there are always people out there that want to hear the bad, and that just sucks. A post like this one, about being happy with life and everything around you are 1000 times better! We all need to start writing about the good and focus less on the bad. :)

  26. I am so happy about the holiday that is to come. I just love Thanksgiving so dearly and the month of December makes me deeply joyful. Then comes New Years and a fresh start which I always love. It's going to be a smaller Christmas this year and for that, I'm actually deeply happy.

There is NOTHING wrong with talking about how happy you are! How people react to your joy (which is pure, genuine, contagious happiness by the way!) is their issue. :) Being thankful and happy are qualities to admire for sure!! This post made my day even better-- thank you for sharing your happiness with us!

  28. I love this, and I'm so happy that you're happy! I have so enjoyed our conversation, our laughing, and our lack of Instagramming ;) xo

  30. you should absolutely publish this. everyone goes through ups and downs and there is nothing wrong with documenting the ups!

  31. It always feels good to be happy! You deserve it. :)

  32. What a great post. I am over the negativity of others. Since when did being miserable equal being real?? Real people have bad days, sure!! and they can be honest about that, but being miserable all the time doesn't mean you are more human. Actually it means you are doing something incredibly wrong. Choosing happiness and spreading that to others is wonderful :)

  33. isn't it sad that our tragic posts sometimes get the most attention? i realize that everyone has the best intentions and that they want to show their support but still...happiness and the post that follow should get more attention than they do!

  34. I love this post and am so glad you're happy. I'm glad you guys are enjoying Denver, it looks beautiful. Feel free to send some of that happiness my way :)

  35. BRUTUS IS ADORABLE!! That's one good looking bully! :) I'm going to follow him on Instagram for my daily Brutus fix:)

  36. I may be the odd one out then, I love reading posts where people are genuinely happy! It's a nice break from all the whining we bloggers tend to do haha. I'm unapologetically happy about spending all day Sunday laying around, watching Netflix, and snuggling with my pup. I really could get used to that!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Never apologize for being happy!! So glad you are feeling happy and content in life! Blogging is best when real and sad and HAPPY are real.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think lots of people have said it, but you should never apologise for being happy. I think it's really lovely to put this out there and to say 'Hey!I appreciate all the good in my life' Not enough people do that, and perhaps that's because of some cultural norm, I don't know, but there is no reason why you shouldn't change that! Celebrate!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ick, if people wanted to hold my happiness against me, then I don't think I would want them reading my blog! I think pointing out what makes you happy and why can cause other people to realize that maybe they have some of the same things going on and hey, maybe life isn't so bad. Good for you! And I too am very proud of myself when instagramming a moment isn't the first thing that comes to mind!

  40. Never apologize for being happy!! You guys definitely deserve happiness :) PS Got your mace ready for tomorrow night??

  41. I am SO happy to hear that you're happy! I love Denver so I can imagine living there must be amazing, and I'm happy that TJ loves his job and Brutus has made so many friends!

  42. I'm fairly happy too right now ... but its a bit early for me to begin proclaiming why from rooftops or the blog ... don't wanna jinx anything ;-)

Now, if I had the opportunity to move/work in Colorado right now, you'd hear me all the way from Texas :)

  43. There's nothing wrong letting the world know that you are happy. Sharing your happiness can make other people happy too :)

  44. Not a damn thing wrong with posting how great you're doing. I love hearing about it. Y'all deserve it. <3

  46. Absolutely nothing wrong with this kind of post. As for being unapologetically happy, you deserve it! I am super happy to be getting a new (to me) refrigerator. Silly? Yes, but I don't care!

    ReplyDelete
  47. We should all be unapologetically happy. Sometimes (maybe even most of the time) life is freaking great. Let's celebrate it!

Glad you are so happy :)

  48. This is great! I get that drama is compelling, but life is something we should be happy about, and therefore should be blogged about! Hurray for happiness!
